Gynecology in South Bend

GYN care that takes the difficult problems seriously.

Annual pelvic exams are recommended routine care from the age of 21. We know they are often uncomfortable, so every encounter here is trauma-informed: you decide the pace, and you can stop at any point.

We see gynecology patients from the teenage years through 65 — the whole of the reproductive lifetime.

What we treat

We see patients for:

  • Annual pelvic exams and routine health maintenance
  • Contraceptive care, and IUD removal
  • Menopause and perimenopause
  • Vaginismus — involuntary tightening that makes penetration and exams painful
  • Vulvar pain, whether sudden or long-standing
  • Bacterial vaginosis, including recurrent cases where antibiotics keep failing
  • Vaginitis and vulvovaginal infections
  • Dyspareunia — pain with intercourse
  • PCOS, endometriosis and irregular cycles

Recurrent problems

Bacterial vaginosis is often marked by recurrence and repeated courses of antibiotics — which increases resistance and disturbs the vaginal microbiome further. If you are on your fourth round, the answer is not a fifth. We look for what is driving it.

How we do exams

Everything is explained before it is done. You can pause or stop at any time, and nothing proceeds without your say-so. If exams are difficult for you for any reason, we will work with you to find an approach that fits.

What it costs

Insurance accepted

Most gynecology visits bill to insurance. Call us to verify your plan before you come in.

Questions we get asked

Do you take my insurance?
We accept a range of plans. Call and we will check yours specifically rather than guessing from the card.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, always.
I've had a bad experience with exams before.
Please say so at the beginning. It changes how we approach the whole visit, and that is the point.
Do you remove IUDs?
Yes. We will talk through pain management options beforehand rather than after. We do not place them — for an insertion we will point you to someone who does.

Still deciding about Gynecology?

That is a completely normal place to be. Nothing is booked by asking, and if this turns out not to be the right treatment for you we will say so.
